Central Oregon Regional Educator Network (COREN) ADMINISTRATIVE & FINANCE COORDINATOR

20 hours/week, Days are flexible, 220 days/year  

High Desert Regional Education Center, Redmond

Position start date: 7.1.2024

 

Rate as established by bargaining agreement, Classified Wage Schedule, starting rate $22.06 - $26.84/hr DOE

 

Benefits include prorated family insurance package, paid sick leave and holidays, tuition reimbursement program and generous PERS contribution.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE & FINANCE COORDINATOR


Definition We are thrilled to open up the Administrative and Finance Coordinator position, which will serve as the backbone of the staff team for the Central Oregon Regional Educator Network (COREN). The person who fills this role will ensure the range of administrative and financial coordination needs of the program are met by implementing streamlined systems towards this end. They will need to bring an open mind and strong commitment to our mission of preparing, recruiting, supporting, and retaining a racially diverse educator workforce. This position will be employed by the High Desert Education Service District (HDESD) on behalf of the Central Oregon Regional Educator Network. While formally reporting to the Director, this person will also be accountable to our team in terms of leading in all administrative and financial coordination duties required to ensure the mission of our work is accomplished.


Qualifications We will be considering the following range of qualifications in our selection process:

3. Ability to take direction from a number of team members and then work autonomously to accomplish tasks and projects
4. Experience coordinating multiple projects at a time

6. A creative self-starter that is comfortable with ambiguity and improvisation
7. Eagerness for continued learning and development
8. Knowledge and/or experience with coordinating and managing finances
9. Knowledge and/or experience in an administrative position
10. Without significant risk of injury, must be able to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and at times lift/move up to 50 lbs.

11. Traveling is involved. Must have access to reliable transportation and consistent attendance is required.
12. Preference given to applicants with a Bachelor’s degree

Performance Responsibilities


Financial Management (50%)
COREN currently holds three educator resource grants. The Coordinator: Acts as the liaison between our staff team and HDESD business office and first point of contact for our team; Supports all aspects of COREN financials; Makes purchases; Allocates and tracks team spending; Creates Memorandums of Agreement, Purchase Orders, Project Pay; Tracks and monitors invoices, billing and budgets closely; Notifies supervisor of any budget related issues; Communicate regularly with all fiscal partners to ensure transparency and timely payment.


Event Coordinator (30%)
Plans and executes event logistics for professional learning and community events, in partnership with project teams, in a timely and detail oriented manner: secures venues, orders catering, creates content for marketing materials, orders and organizes necessary supplies, communicates with vendors and participants, creates presentations, handouts, and manages registration details and follow up.


Communications Liaison (10%)
With assistance, training, and guidance from a communications specialist, creates content for newsletters and communications, maintains accurate information on the program website, professionally and kindly provides frequent informal communication with partners.


Other Responsibilities as Assigned (10%)
COREN projects are shaped and changed by the needs of teachers, our partner districts, and the community we serve, which leads at any time to the rise of new initiatives and the closure of current ones. This means coordinating multiple projects, grants, and reporting systems simultaneously. The Administrative and Finance Coordinator will need to be flexible and responsive to this organic and evolving nature of the work and be ready to take on new duties as necessary.


Terms of Employment Salary, benefits, and vacation are established by policy and collective bargaining contract.
